  • Agilent phycobiliproteins are manufactured from proprietary natural sources grown in continuous culture in California. These highly purified products are then purified yielding the highest quality phycobiliproteins available These are stable proteins which can be easily linked to antibodies and other proteins by conventional protein cross-linking techniques without altering its spectral characteristics.
  • R-Phycoeryth rin (RPE) is one of the most common reporter proteins used in flow cytometry and Luminex® or other bead-based applications. RPE has an extremely high absorptivity, a high quantum efficiency, a large Stokes shift and excitation and emission bands at visible wavelengths.
  • Allophycocyanin (APC) has an extremely high absorptivity, a high quantum efficiency, a large Stokes shift and a strong excitation peak. The protein is commonly used for fluorescent immunolabeling, particularly in applications involving fluorescent-activated cell sorting (FACS) or time-resolved fluorescence resonance transfer (TR-FRET) assays. Cross-linking APC creates the most stable form of APC available as the αβ subunits of the APC have been crosslinked to provide increased structural integrity in the presence of chaotropic salts.
  • B-Phycoerythrin (BPE) is a phycobiliprotein isolated from a species of red algae chosen specifically because it yields one of the most highly fluorescent molecules of the BPEs. Like other phycobiliproteins, Agilent BPE is fluorescent, with an extremely high absorptivity, a high quantum efficiency, a large Stokes shift and excitation and emission bands at visible wavelengths.
  • C-Phycocyanin (CPC) is a phycobiliprotein isolated from Spirulina sp., a blue-green alga. Like other phycobiliproteins, CPC is fluorescent, with an extremely high absorptivity and a high quantum efficiency. CPC has an absorption maximum of 620 nm and an emission maximum of 647 nm.
  • Peridinin-chlorophyll-protein complex (PerCP) is isolated from Dinophyceae sp. PerCP has an extremely high absorbance, a high quantum efficiency, a large Stokes shift and a strong excitation peak at 482 nm with its maximum emission peak at 677 nm. The protein is commonly used for fluorescent immunolabeling, particularly in applications involving fluorescent-activated cell sorting (FACS).
