Day 1: Food Safety Regulations and Pesticides Analysis

Topic 1: Food safety: Regulations in Vietnam and other countries

Speaker: Ly Tuan Kiet, Lab manager (Chromatographic Analysis Department)Center of Analytical Services and Experimentation (CASE)

Food safety is becoming an issue in Vietnam as well as in the world. Issues such as pesticide residues, mycotoxins are becoming a concern of the government, manufacturers, scientists as well as consumers. Consequently, meeting food safety regulations is a technical standard in global trade.

Topic 2: Sample Preparation for Pesticide Residue: Multi residues and Single Residue in black pepper and polar pesticides for Tea samples

Speaker: Wimut Sermsri, Business Development Specialist – Chemistries & Supplies Division, Agilent Technologies

Sample preparation for pesticides analysis is a crucial step in workflow. Different sample matrices have difference challenges. “Black Pepper” and “Tea” are challenges sample matrix which are highly pigmented and fat. In this webinar we discuss “Tips and Tricks” on sample preparation of these samples for polar pesticide analysis.

Topic 3: Targeted screening of Multiresidue pesticides in food & drink with the 6470B triple quadrupole LC/MS

Speaker: Sunil Kulkarni, Application Scientist LCMS, Agilent Technologies

This webinar describes an LC/MS/MS screening method for the detection of 244 pesticide residues in food matrices using an Agilent 6470B triple quadrupole LC/MS system. Organic oranges and black tea were chosen
to evaluate the detection of pesticides in food matrices because of their complexity. For the heavy black tea matrix, 239 pesticides were detected at or below 10 μg/kg.[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]Day 2: Focus on Veterinary Drug Analysis

Topic 1: Sample Preparation: How to choose the right sample prep to improve the Analysis of Veterinary Drugs and antibiotics in seafood samples

Speaker: Wimut Sermsri, Business Development Specialist – Chemistries & Supplies Division, Agilent Technologies

Sample preparation for veterinary drug and antibiotic is one of critical point most of the workflow. Highly fat content in meat can lead poor performance of result and downtime of the analysis. In this webinar will be
discussed about “How to” prepare highly fat sample.

Topic 2: Tips and Tricks for LCMS: Improve your analytical accuracy and minimize the down-time

Speaker: Chong Huey Bing, LCMS Product Specialist, Agilent Technologies

LCMS analyses are becoming much more prevalent and has been widely used in various analytical research and routine analysis for quantification and identification of unknowns from variety of complex samples. A basic
understanding and practical insight are required for successful LCMS method implementation. This presentation will describe the tips and tricks for LCMS to improve the reliability and accuracy of your analytical results
and to minimize the downtime of the instrument.

Day 3: Food and Metabolomics Profiling

Topic 1: Food Authenticity and classification

Speaker: Zhang Yufeng, GCMS Application Scientist, Agilent Technologies

This presentation will introduce a novel food authenticity workflow targeted for routine analysis that allows to distinguish black pepper samples from different geographic regions and detect adulteration based on Agilent 7250 GC/QTOF. The workflow uses high-resolution mass spectrometry with Agilent Mass Profiler Professional (MPP) and Agilent MassHunter Classifier software to classify a sample and determine if it us
authentic or adulterated with high precision and accuracy.

Topic 2: Agilent’s Solution for Metabolite Profiling and Pathway Analy-sis

Speaker: Robin Philp, Academia & Collaborations Manager, Agilent
Technologies

Metabolomics is the study of endogenous metabolites, called the metabolome, which is a collection of low molecular weight (50 – 1,500 Da) compounds with a wide range of physiochemical properties. Measuring
the metabolome and profiling between different conditions, such as disease, provides important information about the functional status of a biological system. Its close proximity to the phenotype of an organism
provides complementary information to genomics and proteomics. This presentation will describe Agilent’s solution to metabolite profiling and differential analysis and will include the ability to map differentially
expressed metabolites onto metabolic pathways to provide biological contextualization.
